DId you know as of 2019 Bylaws, City of Delta allows 1/2 story levels above your 2nd floor that doesn't count towards your square footage like a basement? i.e. if your 2nd floor is 1000 sq. ft. then you are allowed 500 sq. ft. on your 3rd level. Basically, as we live so close to sea level we cannot have full basements; so we are allowed to go up!

This included taking a rarely used attic storage space and building a new stairway into the attic space which is now a Home Office, Family Room, and Guest room within 500 square feet.
